How To Interpret The Results

Once you have loaded analytics for a particular Social Profile, you'll be able to gain insight into the parts of the strategy that are working and what can be improved!

Overview

The first section of the analytics includes an overview of the Social Profile. Here you can see generally how many posts have been published in the time frame analyzed, what types of content, and some average engagement analytics

In this example, we can see that 23 posts were published in the last 3 months, 13% of which included links while 78% featured images, and only 13% featured videos.

4% of the posts included hashtags as well as @ mentioned other users. The posts received an average of 2.5 likes/post.

Filter By Publisher

The next section includes information on what publishing tools the Profile is using, as well as a breakdown of the engagement. You'll be able to see whether posts published via a specific tool received higher or lower engagement.

Here we can see that this user publishes mostly using the Facebook app.

Engagement By Content

This section details what types of content receive higher engagement! You can quickly see what sort of content does well for your audience and which content doesn't, so moving forward you know exactly what format of content to create!

Here we can see that posts that did include a link + image, or video performed the best as they received an average of 4/3.7 likes/post, while posts with just text received 0 likes/post.

Moving forward, this user may, therefore, consider creating more content with links+ images, and videos and less content with just text! 🔗

Engagement VS Number of Hashtags

Not sure how many hashtags to use on your posts? Look no further, the answer lies in engagement vs the number of hashtags!

Here you can see the average engagement for posts including various numbers of hashtags. Here we can see that most posts didn't include hashtags and received an average of 2.5 likes/post.

However, the 1 post that included 3 hashtags received an average of 3 likes/post and had a higher reach of 7/post! There isn't enough data here to conclude that 3 hashtags are the optimum number as we only have one data point, but it's something to notice!

This one post may have received higher engagement for other reasons, but the only way to tell if the hashtags had anything to do with it would be to craft more posts with 3 hashtags!

To learn more about hashtag analytics, check out this article: How Many & Which Hashtags Should I Use?

Hashtags Analytics

Wondering which hashtags to use? This section is for you!

Under "Most-Used Hashtags", you'll see a list of hashtags that the analyzed profile is already using in order of frequency of use. #smarterqueue, #socialmediamanager, and #marketingmadeeasy were used on 1 post over this analyzed time frame, therefore, making them the most used hashtags! Keep in mind, hashtags that are used more frequently aren't necessarily the best for engagement! Keep an eye on the next sections to learn more.

Top Hashtags for Likes" and "Top Hashtags for Comments" sort the list of hashtags by engagement. You'll notice that each tag is color-coded. The colors are displayed around principles of a heat map, where red represents hot, so high engagement, and green represents cool, so low engagement.

In the second grouping of tags, #smarterqueue is red hot, and therefore the top hashtag for likes! By hovering over the tag, we can see further information. This tag was used only on one post, so it is unlikely that the tag caused higher engagement, however, some of the other red and orange tags on the list may have been used on more posts - with more data points you can more accurately determine whether a hashtag might have contributed to higher engagement 💪 These are the tags you can continue or start using on your own posts!

💡 Hover over any hashtag for more insight! You'll see a break down of how many posts used the tag and other average engagement metrics based on the platform. You can also click on a hashtag to filter the analytics for posts only using that tag! This allows you to dive even deeper into the analytics 🤿

Mentions Analytics

Mentions analytics work similarly to hashtag analytics. Here you can see a list of the users that were @ tagged or mentioned, in posts.

Top Mentions for Likes" and "Top Mentions for Comments" sorts the list of @ mentioned users by engagement. These sections can give you a good idea of which accounts may be the best to collaborate and partner with on social media to garner more engagement!

Posts Per Month

Here you can see the posting habits of the analyzed Social Profile. If you're not sure how frequently to post, look up your closest competitor and see how frequently they're posting each month! This is a great place to start, though remember, consistency is key

This user posted around 6 times per month over the last 3 months!

Average Monthly Engagement Analytics

While posting consistently is crucial to the success of any social media strategy, if you consistently don't receive high engagement, then you may consider reducing the number of posts per month as you might be overwhelming your audience!

The section on average likes/shares per post can give you an idea of how well your content is received.

Posting Times

Wondering when is your best time to post? Here's the answer!

This section on "Posting Times" highlights the engagement received at each time of day throughout the week. You can see each day of the week written down on the left-hand vertical axis and military time numbers across the top horizontal axis representing the 24-hour clock.

The size of each specific hour bubble will tell you the number of posts that have gone out within that hour. As for engagement, again, the data is displayed as a heatmap - the redder a specific hour bubble is, the hotter it is when it comes to the engagement it has driven, while a greener color will mean lower engagement.

A big red dot, like the one we see for 4 PM on Wednesdays, indicates that many posts have been published at that time and the average engagement is high! This is a great time to keep or start posting!

A big green dot, like the one at 3 PM (or 15 o'clock) on Fridays indicates that many posts have been published at that time, but they consistently receive lower average engagement. Moving forward, you might consider trying new times to post as this time isn't performing very well.

You can even filter content based on a particular time by clicking on the bubble. This helps in identifying what sort of content was published at that particular time as well as viewing the posts at the bottom.

This information can then be used to replicate the content combination as well as the best posting time slots for your posts to boost engagement.

Post Insights

This final section of analytics covers ' Post Insights'. This is a list of all of the posts from the months analyzed in chronological order.

Click on a column header, for example 'Likes', to reorder the posts in order of engagement. You can now quickly see what the top posts were in the month and can look for similarities! What was the tone of voice? Is there an image? Emojis? What times were these posted?
