Changes to Facebook Groups Publishing

Facebook unexpectedly decided to remove Groups API access, preventing any third-party tools, including SmarterQueue, from interacting with your Facebook Groups. After April 22nd, 2024, SmarterQueue will no longer be able to publish directly to groups you manage. You can still schedule posts for these groups, but will receive email notifications for easy manual posting instead. You may also wish to consider transitioning to a Facebook Page for better engagement.

Whether it be others' content or your own, re-sharing posts from Facebook is simple with SmarterQueue! And now you can even re-share content from your own LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Instagram profile too!

How To Search For Content From Facebook

Due to API limitations from other social platforms, we can only search and import content from others' Facebook Pages and media.

1. Using the top menu bar navigate to "Find Content."

2. Select "Curate from social media" from the available options.

3. Type the name of the Facebook account you want to share posts from into the search bar, or your search terms to bring up relevant Facebook Pages and media.

Scroll down to view all search results associated with your search terms.

4. Select the Page you're interested in and scroll down to view all of the available posts below.

How To Re-Share Content From Your Connected Social Profiles

1. Using the top menu bar navigate to "Find Content".

2. Select "Re-share your best posts" from the available options.

3. Press into the search bar to display a dropdown of your connected Social Profiles.

Note: We can only fetch Facebook Group posts from the last 90 days, due to Facebook's data-retention policy.

Note: Due to Twitter API limitations imposed starting with April 29th, 2023, SmarterQueue can no longer import content from your connected Twitter profiles.

For Pinterest, if you'd like to view all of your Pins from a specific personal Board, simply select the "Boards" option.

You can then select the relevant Pinterest Board:

4. Select the profile you're interested in and scroll down to view all of the available posts below.

The posts will be sorted by top engagement metrics depending on the social platform (for example, the default sorting metric used for Facebook profiles will be Most Liked).

How To Filter And Sort Content Search Results

Filter and sort the content using the menu items above the search results.

All social platforms give you the option to search for specific terms within the posts, as well as filter by content type.

1. For Facebook, you can choose to re-arrange the content by "Latest", "Most Liked", "Most Shared", or "Most Commented".

2. For Instagram, you can choose to re-arrange the content by "Latest", "Most Liked", or "Most Commented".

3. For LinkedIn, you can choose to re-arrange the content by "Latest", "Most Liked", or "Most Commented".

4. For Pinterest, you can choose to re-arrange the content by "All" or "Links".

That said, Pinterest’s API unfortunately doesn’t have a way to deliver all of the latest pins for a user. Instead, it provides a list of your boards and then the pins on each board.

The way we try to get “all Pins” is by fetching all Pins for each board in turn. However, we don’t include "group/collaborative" boards when doing this, as they can contain large numbers of pins, and from other people.

1. Choose the post you'd like to re-share and click the "Share" button.

2. You can either "Share Full Post", "Share Photo + Link", "Share Link", or "Share Photo". For more information on what these options mean, head over to our article on What Is The Difference Between Share Photo, Share Link, Share Photo + Link & Share Full Post?

3. After selecting the portion of the content you'd like to share, finish editing in the Post Editor.

Note: Keep in mind Videos and GIFs cannot be pulled via Find Content. For these posts, the media will be published as a static image, and for some platforms with a link to the video.

Here you can choose a Category, select the profiles you'd like to share to, set your Evergreen settings, and finally add the content to your Queue!

How To Import Multiple Posts

1. To quickly import multiple posts into your Queue at once, toggle on "Bulk".

2. You will then be able to use the Bulk editor to select the Category you want for your posts, and the Social Profiles you will be posting them to, as well as toggle Evergreen Recycling on or off for them.

3. Once you've chosen the setting that should apply to the majority of the posts, you can scroll down and make any changes you want to individual posts.

💡 If you are only interested in selecting a limited number of posts from the fetched content, you can toggle off "Select all/none" and then scroll down to manually select and edit the content you want to share.

4. Once you're done editing, click to add the selected posts to the bottom of the Queue 💪

How To Save Content Sources

If you want to come back to these sources in the future and save the time you would spend searching, you can save them under "My Sources," in the left-hand column of the Find Content area.

Common Questions

1. Why don't any Social Profiles load when I search for content?

If you've typed something into the Find Content search bar and nothing loads, please be aware that it might take up to 10 seconds to fetch the content if there are many Social Profiles associated with your search terms.

After typing in your search words, be sure that you do not hit enter or click outside of the search bar. Simply type your search term, wait for a few seconds and your results will populate!

2. Why can't I see other LinkedIn resources when I search for content?

At this time LinkedIn's API doesn't allow SmarterQueue to search for other LinkedIn profiles for posts, with the exception of your own. You can import content already published on your own LinkedIn profiles, as well as import your Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram posts in bulk (or from others') and then schedule them to your LinkedIn profile.

3. Are there any legal repercussions when re-sharing content?

We recommend that you always assume that the original content creator owns the rights to the content that you are reposting.

Some social networks, such as Twitter, highlight this in their terms of service that enables users the right to retain what they post.

In this case, it is always best to give credit to the content's original creator by tagging them. For example "Photo by @username" may be sufficient enough.

We recommend customizing any content you curate in order to add your own flare. If you're in doubt, you may also want to contact the creator directly and ask their permission to repost their content.

4. Can I search for Pins from Pinterest boards I follow?

Due to limitations with Pinterest's API, SmarterQueue can no longer import content from Pinterest boards that you follow. At this time, you can only import content from your own boards.
