Changes to Facebook Groups Publishing

Facebook unexpectedly decided to remove Groups API access, preventing any third-party tools, including SmarterQueue, from interacting with your Facebook Groups. After April 22nd, 2024, SmarterQueue will no longer be able to publish directly to groups you manage. You can still schedule posts for these groups, but will receive email notifications for easy manual posting instead. You may also wish to consider transitioning to a Facebook Page for better engagement.

Maybe you have an RSS Feed and you want to quickly be able to import a single post and publish it to your followers. For example, we have seen customers use this for Blog Posts or an RSS of their Podcast episodes. Whatever the reason, we have you covered and can help you spread the word.

How To Import From RSS

1. To get started, all you need to do is navigate to 'Find Content' at the top of your SmarterQueue dashboard.

2. Then select 'Share posts from others' blogs', if you want to share relevant content from other sources, or 'Share your blog posts', if you're looking to import a post from your own blog.

3. In the search box, enter the web address for the blog whose posts you are looking to import. 

Note: You don’t need to worry about finding RSS feeds, SmarterQueue does that automatically.

How To Share A Single Post

1. To share single posts, click the “Share +” button under the blog you'd like to import into SmarterQueue ✨  

2. You’ll see an option to share the link only (write your own text and add your own photo), or to share the full post, which will use the photo, link and text from the selected post.

Now, you can customize any of your post's parameters before adding it to your Queue. 💪 

Error Finding RSS

If you encounter an error when looking for the RSS feed that looks like this:

This is usually because SmarterQueue can’t find the blog posts on the site's homepage. 

If you see this error, try entering the URL for your chosen site’s dedicated blog page.

SmarterQueue will then fetch the most recent posts. Most blogs have about 10-20 posts saved in their RSS feed.

Common Questions

What happens if I try to import a post that is too long for Twitter or LinkedIn?

When importing, you will always have the option to edit the post text before adding it to your Queue. If you are importing to a Twitter profile, we will check the post length (including any links and images), and warn you if the post exceeds Twitter’s 280-character limit or LinkedIn’s 1300 character limit. You can then edit the text so that it doesn’t exceed the character limit.

Why are some tweets too long to import?

When you’re importing existing posts from Twitter, into one of your Twitter profiles, you may find that they can’t be imported because they’re over the 280-character limit. If you’re importing a tweet from someone else’s profile, we add “via @username” into the tweet so the original author can be credited. You can choose not to add these credits by changing the “Add Text Attribution To Imported Tweets” setting in the Settings page.
