📹 How To Read & Interpret Reports

Members with the Agency plan or the Advanced Analytics add-on can view reports for any time period. All other plans can view reports for the current month only.

Social media analytics are vital, as they help you understand your audience. They give you the insights necessary to identify what is and isn't working, to engage better and get the results you're hoping for. ✨

In SmarterQueue 'Analytics', the Reports section allows you to create robust reports for any of your connected Social Profiles and evaluate some of your most important posting habits when using SmarterQueue.

How To Generate, Read & Interpret Reports

Navigate to Analytics > Reports using the top menu of your SmarterQueue dashboard

  • Choose your reporting time frame, and Social Profile to analyze
  • Click 'Update'

💡 You can analyze one Social Profile at a time

💡Note: Due to Twitter API limitations imposed starting on April 29th, 2023, SmarterQueue can no longer check metrics for any connected Twitter profiles.

The first important piece of information generated will show your engagement by Category. You will be able to see how many posts you published from each of your Categories, and see how much engagement each Category received.

Depending on the selected platform, we will get specific information on likes, retweets, comments, shares, clicks, etc. We will also be able to see what percentage of posts had used links, how many of those were trackable Bitlinks, as well as what type of media (images, videos) was used, if any.

Each column header will have a help icon. Hover your mouse over it for an explanation of what the numbers within the column represent.

💡 Note: Statistics shown will vary depending on the network where the post was published. For Google My Business Profiles, read more about particularities around how clicks are counted here.

When interpreting your numbers, keep in mind that behind every Category there is a multitude of factors to consider:

  • if Seasonal Categories were active during the entire time frame you're looking at;
  • how your Posting Plan was set up to publish content (especially the date/time you're sending content out for);
  • the specific audience you're addressing with each post;
  • content specifics that could impact engagement, such as added media, subject matter, etc.

Scrolling down, we will find an interactive metric chart that you can customize based on likes, comments, shares, visitors, uniques, and more, plotted against other values, like the number of fans, fan growth, and posting frequency.

If you've ever wondered how your total number of followers is evolving over time, as a potential result of specific times of engagement, this is the way to find out. 💪

You can, for example, check if you are gaining more fans based on how much your audience is sharing your content over time, or if you're getting more likes if you post more often. Any trends that appear based on any variation of your posting habits will be easy to spot here.

Moving further down, we can find the 'Engagement by Hour'  heat map, which shows your best-performing posting times. This allows you to fine-tune the times when you share posts with your audience.

The size of each specific hour bubble will tell you the number of posts that have gone out within that hour. As for engagement, the data is displayed as a heatmap - the redder a specific hour bubble is, the hotter it is when it comes to the engagement it has driven, while a greener color will mean lower engagement.

The heat map can display information for all Categories, or for each one separately, based on your selection in the 'Category' drop-down. You can also select the type of engagement you want to check, such as likes, retweets, shares, clicks and more.

We can see in the example above that a higher number of posts in an hour won't necessarily bring the highest level of engagement. This is why finding the best time to post is one of the most important steps you need to take when engaging with your audience. 😊
