Why Am I Being Logged Out Of SmarterQueue On My Android Phone?

In This Article

What Is Causing This Error?

Our logs indicate that this is a mobile browser issue, where the ID of the browser changes after login (this is how your mobile browser identifies itself to our servers at SmarterQueue):

Example of a Browser string during login:

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 8.0.0; ONEPLUS A3003 Build/OPR6.170623.013) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.109 Mobile Safari/537.36

And the Browser string after login:

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 8.0.0; Build/OPR6.170623.013) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.109 Mobile Safari/537.36

Notice that “ ONEPLUS A3003” has disappeared from the browser string after login.

Our security measures detect this change in the browser string as a potential hack attempt and log you out. This is to prevent someone else (using a different browser) from hijacking your login session and taking control of your account.

How To Resolve It

There are reports that using your browser’s “Desktop site” feature may prevent the browser string from changing, and would allow you to remain logged in. Our site should still function correctly in this mode.

What Does "Desktop Site" do?

The mobile version of a website is optimized for mobile use and will not include all the features that would normally be available on the desktop version. To access the desktop version of the website on your Android device, you would need to request it within the browser you are using.

How To Request Desktop Site?

Here are a few steps to help you load the desktop version of SmarterQueue!

1. Open the browser that you are using on your mobile device.

2. Access the SmarterQueue website/dashboard.

3. Based on your browser, look for the options menu (the 3 dot icon on Chrome or Firefox) and tap on it.

4. From the list of options, check the box next to "Desktop site".

To turn off the feature and go back to the optimized mobile version of the website, you can either follow the same steps and tick off the 'Desktop site' box, or simply close the current browser tab and open a new one.

The alternative is to try a different mobile browser, which consistently reports the same browser string at all times.
